Stay Ready

Continuing Paul’s discussion about the Parousia (second coming of Jesus), we will conclude our exploration of the first letter to the Thessalonians. Paul continues to quell the fears of the young Christians regarding the Lord’s return. Paul stressed that having a firm understanding of the Lord’s return will impact the believer’s outlook on living. While remaining alert for Christ’s return, staying alert need not be expressed through fear. Instead of fear, Paul encourages a proactive faith demonstrated through prayer, service, community, and holy living.
