Different on Purpose

The church at Rome was not one group. It was two. Jewish believers who came to Jesus out of the synagogue, with the Scriptures and the Sabbath and generations of covenant behind them. And Gentile believers, Greeks and Romans, who came to Jesus out of paganism with none of that history at all. Same room. Same Lord. Very different worlds.

Two groups nobody expected to see at the same table, glorifying God with one voice, in front of an empire that had never seen anything like it. God did not put them in that room to get along. God put them in that room to show the world something.
