Not Your Own
by Dion Frasier
Preaching
These are the chapters churches skip. A man in the congregation was sleeping with his father's wife and the church was proud of how tolerant it had become. Believers were dragging one another into pagan courts. Some were still visiting temple prostitutes and had built a slogan to justify it: all things are lawful for me. And into that mess Paul asks the question that reframes everything. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and that you are not your own? You were bought with a price. This message handles sex, conflict, and marriage the way Paul did, with directness and without shame. Paul grounds it all in a promise: God raised the Lord, and he will raise us also. What we do with our bodies matters because these bodies have a future.
